Open the gate before you move it

Doubling the outer wall gate area. Velocity dropped, the turbulence stopped, and the porosity went with it.

Relocating the gate from the throat to the outer wall. That moved the porosity, it did not remove it.

Two jobs in a row now, the fix was a bigger gate. On the volute we burned a whole trial moving the gate somewhere else first. The rule now is: open it, and only shrink it back if flash shows up.
